SMART SHOPPER CARDS – DEBIT CARDS FOR SHOP RITE AND STOP & SHOP: Envelopes are available in the Church for parishioners to obtain Smart Shopper Cards. Parishioners desiring a card(s) please complete the directions given on the envelope. Please deposit the envelope in the box located in the front vestibule of the church. The envelopes containing your order will be filled on Mondays and will be available for pick-up at the Parish Office from Tuesday to Friday (9:30 A.M. – 4:00 P.M.) or they may be picked up in the front vestibule of the Church the following weekend after the Masses. Smart Shopper Cards will continue to be available at the Parish Office during office hours. For every one hundred dollar ($100) smart shopper card used, the parish receives five dollars ($5.00) This is a wonderful contribution to our church at no cost to those who use the smart shopper card. The cards are available in $20, $50 & $100 amounts. The purchase of Smart Shopper Cards are not only available to all our parishioners but for everyone who would like one.  The cards can also be given as gifts. Imagine the benefit to the parish if all our parishioners were to purchase their food by using a Smart Shopper Card.

THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS, COUNCIL 5800 WILL BE SPONSORING A BLOOD DRIVE Monday July 26th from 3:00pm until 9pm.  This event will take place in the Church Hall.  For further information or to reserve a time slot, please call Robert Malarczyk, Sr. at 256-1227.

ALTAR SERVING OUTING: will take place August 12, 2010 (Thursday). It will be a day trip to the Zoom Flume Water Park located in East Durham, NY. Altar Servers, please mark you calendars. You will receive from the parish office a registration form – sent by email and for those without email sent through the mail. To participate, a response is required.

THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS, COUNCIL 5800 WILL BE SPONSORING A BUS TRIP TO “MONTICELLO CASINO RACEWAY” on Saturday August 14, 2010 at $20.00 per person. The bus will leave from New Paltz park and ride on RT 32 N (across from Stewarts) at 10 AM and leave Monticello at 6PM.  Incentive Package: $5.00 free play * 25 % off food and beverages & Players card.   Winners circle (all you can eat). Lunch hours 11 AM to 3 PM $11.95. Dinner Hours 3 PM to 9 PM $17.95.  For reservation, call David Moore at 255-8315.

TRAINING SESSION FOR LECTORS: will take place on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 12:30 P.M. in the Church for those who recently volunteered. Veteran lectors are welcome also. The session will focus on church and parish liturgical procedures together with proclamation practice.

OUR 2010 SCHOOL SUPPLIES DRIVE IS UNDERWAY.  Please help us provide local students with supplies for the new school year.  Donated items will be distributed to children in need by social workers at the Duzine, Lenape, and Middle Schools in New Paltz, as well as the St. Joseph’s Religious Education Program.  Donations can be left in the church vestibule or the parish office through August 29.  For questions, contact Betty Bordino at 255-2210 or email:  bettybordino@gmail com.  Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

HELP YOUR PARISH – USE SMART SHOPPER DEBIT CARDS: are available for Shop Rite and Stop and Shop. Application envelopes are available in the front vestibule of the church or they may be purchased at the Parish Office. The cards will be mailed to those who mark “Mail” on the application envelope or they may be picked up at the parish office during the week or after the weekend Masses. The use of the Smart Shopper Card provides the parish with $5.00 for every $100 food purchase. This is a most helpful fund raiser for the Church. Please consider participating. Those who do use them, find it most convenient. The cards can be purchased and given as gifts.

PARISH RESPECT LIFE COORDINATOR NEEDED: every parish is expected to have a coordinator to work with the Archdiocesan Office and the Ulster County Right to Life. The Archdiocesan Office is very well organized, offering programs and events for parish consideration and involvement. Hopefully several parishioners would be interested. Please phone the parish office to volunteer.

 VOLUNTEER TO BE A LECTOR OR EUCHARISTIC MINISTERbecause we have five Masses every weekend the need for Lectors & Eucharistic Ministers is great. Every weekend Mass should have three Lectors (a commentator and two readers) and seven Eucharistic Ministers (three for the Body of Christ and four for the Blood of Christ). Please help us reach the goal. Phone the parish office to volunteer. Training Sessions will be planned.

RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults): a Catholic formation / education program. The RCIA Program is for people interested in full initiation into the Catholic Church through the celebration of the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation & Eucharist. It is also for Catholics who have been Baptized and have not celebrated the sacraments of Confirmation and/or Eucharist. Those who are interested please phone the Parish Office and ask for Fr. Barnabas.  RCIA Adapted for Children: We also serve children from the 3rd to 8th grade that are in need of age appropriate sacraments.  Call Donna Wirthmann at the Parish Office, 255-5635.

INVITATION - BRING TO CHURCH A NON-PERISHABLE FOOD ITEM OR A MONEY DONATION FOR FOOD:  place the food item in boxes located in the vestibules of the church or the money donation for food in the collection basket clearly marked For Food. A representative number food items will be brought to the altar at the presentation of gifts time of Mass. Food pantries are experiencing a shortage of food including our Parish Food Pantry. Whatever help you can give will be appreciated greatly.
