All the Christian churches in New Paltz will participate and we will gather at the Middle School at 1:00 (step-off is at 1:30).  The procession will end here at St. Joseph’s with a prayer service in the church and then a reception in the hall.  It will be a wonderful opportunity to gather as followers of Christ and to witness to the presence of Christ in our local community. Please join us- it will be even better than last year!  And we are looking for parishioners to donate snacks and finger foods for the reception- whatever you could bring would be greatly appreciated.  Please bring them to the church hall that afternoon before you go to the procession.

RECONCILIATION MONDAY- On Monday, March 30, every parish in the Archdiocese of New York will offer an opportunity to celebrate the sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) from 3:00-9:00 P.M.  By participating in this sacrament, a person can experience the healing love of God in Jesus Christ and is reconciled to God and neighbor.  Please consider taking advantage of this opportunity for forgiveness and for peace of mind and soul

CENTERING PRAYER DVDs- One of our parishioners will be presenting a series of six DVD’s that explain the traditional technique of Centering Prayer.  Each session will include the opportunity to practice this way of prayer.  The sessions will take place on Tuesdays and they will be held in Room #4 of the parish center and will last from 9:45-11:00.

“THE QUILT”

“A family is pieced together with hope and faith,
A family is quilted and bound by love and grace
.”

In September, plain pieces of fabric were given out to the children and their families to think about decorating it to become part of our Saint Joseph’s Family Quilt which will hang in the Parish Center.  Many years ago, some families made a quilt and we would like to replace it now with our new families.  THIS PROJECT IS OPEN TO THE PARISH AS A WHOLE.  If you would like to participate, quilt squares are located on the table in the front vestibule of the Church.  Please have your material completed and returned to the Religious Education Office to be part of history that will prominently hang for all to see.  For further info, please call Sister Philomena at 255-5635, ext. 105.  APRIL 1ST IS THE FINAL DEADLINE FOR THIS PROJECT.

SHARE YOUR STORIES OF THE CAPUCHINS- How have the Capuchins made a difference in your lives?  How have they enriched your life of faith and your experience of belonging to this parish community?  Please let us know your thoughts on this topic and send them to Fr. Salvatore at salccapuchin@hotmail.com.  We will post them on our Capuchin province’s website dedicated to the Year of Consecrated Life.  And we’ll let you know soon how we will celebrate this special year in our parish.  http://yearofconsecratedlife-provinceofstmary.com/
