All who attended St. Joseph’s School between its opening in 1948 and closing in 1970 are invited to this special event, which will include a gathering to compare memories, reconnect and celebrate our shared history.  Light refreshments & a tour of the former Saint Joseph’s School, which is now Mountain Laurel Waldorf School.  Please let us know if you will be attending by calling: Religious Education Office ~  845-255-5635  Extension 105 or the Parish Office ~ Donna Wirthmann ~ 845-255-5635  Extension 101, or via email:  stjoenp@stjosephnewpaltz.org.  Please share this with those you think would be interested!
BOOK CLUB- Please join us for the next meeting of the St. Joseph Book Club on Thursday, July 9 at 7:00 P.M. in the parish center.  The book that we will discuss is Diary of a Country Priest by Georges Bernanos, a novel about the goings-on in a small parish in the French countryside, and of how God is working in those seemingly ordinary events. “Grace is everywhere…”  Or you can see the 1951 film based on the book, directed by Robert Bresson.  All are welcome to attend and please see Fr. Salvatore for more information. By the way, there are many used copies of the book out there.  Go to Amazon or to www.bookfinder.com.
GETTING THE WORD OUT- As you know, there are so many good things happening at our parish and we would like to make sure you know exactly what those things are.  One of our parishioners, Chris Drazek, has volunteered to help us better communicate about these events, programs, etc.  He will help us gather e-mail addresses from our fellow parishioners so that we can send out that information on a timely basis, as well as distributing things like an electronic newsletter.  There are cards available on the tables in church to fill out with your e-mail address.  You can give them in at any time.  Confidentiality and security are guaranteed and the e-mail addresses that are given to us will not be shared with anyone else.  Please see Fr. Salvatore if you have any questions.
GOLF OUTING ~ will take place September 12th.  If you or anyone you know has had experience in this area and would like to help in any way, please see Fr. Salvatore or Sr. Philomena.  We could use your expertise and help!
SHARE YOUR STORIES OF THE CAPUCHINS- How have the Capuchins made a difference in your lives?  How have they enriched your life of faith and your experience of belonging to this parish community?  Please let us know your thoughts on this topic and send them to Fr. Salvatore at salccapuchin@hotmail.com.  We will post them on our Capuchin province’s website dedicated to the Year of Consecrated Life.  And we’ll let you know soon how we will celebrate this special year in our parish.  http://yearofconsecratedlife-provinceofstmary.com/
