CHARISMATIC PRAYER GROUP- The Charismatic Prayer Group meets in the church the second and fourth Wednesdays of every month at 7:00 P.M. Feel free to bring your Bible if you like. All are welcome!
This is a message from Irma Butz, the prayer group leader:
On the second Wednesday of every month, the Charismatic Prayer Group gathers in our church at 7:00 P.M. Not only do members of our parish family attend, but also members from other churches and denominations as well. We come together to sings songs of praise and worship, read the Word, share experiences of how God has worked in our lives and pray for those who have any special prayer intentions, as well as for the prayer requests listed in St. Joseph’s Books of Intentions.
Since our core group is charismatic, that is it is open to the working of the Holy Spirit in each of us, we ask the Holy Spirit’s guidance according to His will and desire to minister to those whom the Lord has called for healing in body, mind or spirit.
Those who come to our prayer group and are not familiar with the gifts of the Holy Spirit are given a short explanation. People who are not familiar with this way of praying may have some fears or concerns since the experiences are extraordinary or just something they are not used to.
However it is important to keep in mind that the Holy Spirit wills what is best for us, and if we trust and surrender ourselves to Him, He can do amazing things, but only if we allow Him to. For example, physical, spiritual and emotional healing, and healing of memories that have wounded our hearts and kept us from being the person God intends us to be. If a person attending our group for the first time would like our prayer team to pray with them during the meeting, we would be happy to do so.
If you feel that the Lord is calling you to come to one of our meetings, please know that you are most welcome at any time and that we will be happy to see you. And if you’d like, please bring along your Bible.
