From Kate Jonietz, the coordinator of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd: Advent is a season of darkness and waiting. We journey through the darkness to welcome the light, as we recall the words of the Prophet Isaiah, “The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light”. Come make the journey to follow the star, to quiet your mind and pause to notice what God and the Holy Spirit may reveal. We invite you to the church hall on Friday December 16 through Sunday December 18 to prayerfully experience an Advent Labyrinth – the ancient tool of silently walking its path to the center point and slowly walking back the same path. Allow God to speak to you as we prayerfully wait to celebrate the coming of Jesus at the great feast of Christmas. The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Level 3 students will be preparing stations for contemplation within the labyrinth from their work with the advent prophecies and the infancy narratives. You can walk the labyrinth or just sit in this space and enjoy the beauty of a prayerful atmosphere. We hope you enjoy their work and enjoy this time of darkness and waiting and welcoming the great light of Christ.
