For the past several decades, each year on Gaudete Sunday (the Third Sunday of Advent) children and adults bring their Baby Jesus figures from the crib at their homes to St. Peter’s Square where the Pope blesses both the people and their figures during the Angelus. This year we will once again celebrate Bambinelli Sunday here at St. Joseph’s at the 9:30 A.M. Mass on Sunday, December 15. Children of all ages are encouraged to bring their representation of Baby Jesus to be blessed and there will be uncolored images on the tables in church for them to take home and color and then bring on December 15.
The Catholic Grandparents Association hopes that the Spirit of Christmas will stay with the children as they see their picture displayed in their home.
