Thomas Merton was an American Trappist monk, writer, theologian, mystic, poet, social activist, and scholar of comparative religion. He was launched as one of most influential spiritual writers in the mid-20th century by his surprise best-selling autobiography of 1947, The Seven Storey Mountain. In spite of his untimely death in 1968 his books remain in print and are being rediscovered. Learn why by joining us for a presentation about his life and spirituality. One of our parishioners, Hildegard Pleva, will offer this talk with slides in our church hall on Thursday, November 18 at 7:00 P.M.
